The Tapcon Anchor Drill Bits are carbide-tipped bits that are manufactured with higher tolerances than ANSI standards, allowing for an accurate fit for the Tapcon anchors to have quick installation and great longevity. These drill bits ensure that any dust that settles in the drilled hole will not interfere with the Tapcon threads. Tapcon manufacturers two different drill bits for its anchors, a straight shank drill bit and a SDS shank drill bit. A straight shank Tapcon drill bit can be expected to drill 60 holes minimum to a 2 inch depth in 4,000 psi concrete. A SDS shank Tapcon drill bit can be expected to drill 100 holes minimum to full depth in 4,000 psi concrete. The life expectations can differ based on the compression strength and aggregate mixture of the concrete. Anchor drill bits from Tapcon require a rotary hammer drill for installation and are designed for the toughest concrete and masonry drilling jobs.
